A snowfall warning is in place and the roads are expected to get pretty bad over the next couple of hours.
The mercury is dropping and the roads are going to turn icy over the next couple of hours.
Already today, officers in West Region OPP have responded to 4 collisions. Road closures are in place in both Oxford and Elgin County.
Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk says it is crucial you do not go through those road closures.
"There are several road closures in effect due to flooding on our roadways in Elgin County, Oxford County and Middlesex County, so if you do see those road closed signs, please do not go around those for everyone's safety, because you never know what lies beneath that water."
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Oxford. It is possible we could have between 10-20 cm of snow and ice pellets fall before tomorrow morning.
Sanchuk says drive carefully tonight and drive to the conditions.
"Give yourself enough time, room and distance between you and the other vehicles, check over your shoulder twice, it is going to save a life, check your blind spots, and just drive according to the road and weather conditions, we need people to get home safe to their families."
Sanchuk says the last thing the OPP want to do tonight is knock on someone's door to tell them their loved one has died in a preventable collision.
Please adjust your driving as the weather conditions continue to change. #OPP responding to collisions. Several road closures in effect across West Region due to flooding. Please #DriveSafely.
