The proposed budget for 2025 is $422 million and the proposed tax levy is $98.8 million.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council is about to have its first look at the Draft Business Plan and Budget for 2025.
The proposed budget is $422 million, including a $291 million operating budget and a $131 million capital plan.
The proposed tax levy is $98.8 million. This means the average homeowner would spend an extra $137 a year on the County's portion of their tax bill. This works out to just under $12 each month.
In a post on his Facebook page last night, Warden Marcus Ryan announced that he has submitted a motion to council to take 4.2% off the proposed tax levy. This would change the yearly impact on the average homeowner from a $137 increase to a $75 increase.
The draft budget should be received by Council during today's meeting. From there it will be reviewed and possibly changed during special budget meetings on November 20th and November 25th before it's up for final approval on December 11th.
Today's council meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and you can find the full agenda online here. The meeting will also be live-streamed on the County's website online here.
