Brian Petrie Seeks Re-election

Brian Petrie is wrapping up his first term on Ingersoll Town Council and now he's running for re-election.

INGERSOLL - Another Ingersoll councillor is running for re-election.

Brian Petrie is very proud of what the town has accomplished over the past four years.

"We've made a lot of major progress in the battle against the landfill. I've always supported every major initiative that the town can do in order to do that; including hiring our own public relations firm to help get the province on board as well as hiring our own experts to make sure the data that we're getting is the right message."

He adds the tax rate is down, the reserves are up and Ingersoll's debt is below the provincial median.

If Petrie is voted back in, he would like to make sure the town is financially secure in the long term by completing a long range financial plan.

Petrie also plans on talking to the residents, to uncover other issues that need to be addressed.

"I want to go back to the people and do another strategic priority session because that really identifies what council needs to work on in the community. We're really successful at getting a lot of those things taken care of so we're ready for a new batch."

Lastly, Petrie would like to see the boundary adjustment with South-West Oxford come to a close, so the town can secure more industrial land.
