The OPP say they want to continue the momentum of these engagement activities involving the police and community in the County. They will schedule follow-up meetings this fall and they will be in each location of the Town Hall meetings.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County OPP are thanking those in the community who came out to the town hall meetings.
They also want to send out a thank you to community members who signed up to be a part of ongoing and future discussions with police and to represent their communities.
Commander Inspector Lisa Anderson says they will help to start new community policing groups.
"Moving forward, the County of Brant OPP are planning on assisting with the creation of new community policing groups in the County. These groups will be in addition to our already well-established Paris Community policing committee. The purpose of these committees is to create open communication between the police and the community, to bring awareness of public safety concerns and most importantly, engage the community in as many proactive community safety initiatives as we can to assist in overall community safety and well-being."
The OPP say they want to continue the momentum of these engagement activities involving the police and community in the County. They will schedule follow-up meetings this fall and they will be in each location of the Town Hall meetings.
They say all community members who signed up during the initial meetings are welcome to attend and they will also hold a public forum at a Town Hall meeting next spring. They'll be held in each of the communities to discuss community safety in the County for 2019.
The County will also host their annual Citizen's Police Academy on September 24th and they're currently accepting applications, which can be picked up at the OPP detachment in Paris. Any applications that are submitted after September will not be accepted.
