Freezing rain warning from Environment Canada for the entire weekend.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada is warning Southwestern Ontario of a potentially historic ice storm moving in now and lasting until tomorrow morning. The freezing rain warning is extened to residents in Oxford County and Brant County.
Freezing rain, as well as some patchy freezing drizzle will be likely during the lull in precipitation this evening. However, freezing rain will become widespread again overnight.
The system may bring significant rain fall Sunday afternoon into Sunday night creating localized flooding.
Southwestern Ontario may see up to 25mm of ice build up by Sunday morning. The strong winds of up to 70 or 80 km/h will likely cause widespread power outages due to fallen trees and power lines.
