A special Bowl In Her Shoes event will be raising money for three organizations in memory of a special woman.
WOODSTOCK - The second annual Bowl in Her Shoes fundraiser is coming up at C&D lanes in Woodstock.
Last year they were able to raise over $2,500 dollars in the memory of Frances Laybolt who was a regular at the bowling alley. Laybolt's niece Donna King tells Heart FM her aunt was a great person who was well known in the community.
"She just loved everybody, got along with everybody it didn't matter who it was, she volunteered in the soup kitchen and the kitchen was hers - if you moved something in the wrong place she got upset about it."
All of the money raised this year will go towards Operation Sharing, Woodstock Special Olympics, and the Canadian Diabetes Association. The bowling will take place from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday and tickets are just $20 for two games of bowling and shoe rentals or $35 dollars which includes the bowling and a t-shirt. They will also have door prizes, 50/50, penny sale and a bake sale. You can purchase your tickets by calling C&D Lanes.
