Current Councillor Bill Bes is looking for a new title with City Council
WOODSTOCK - Bill Bes is looking to leave his mark on County council.
The current Woodstock City Councillor filed papers earlier this week for the city county position.
Bes says both council's need to be looking to the future.
"Woodstock is basically in the bulls eye of developers and entrepreneurs because we are in an extremely good location. We've had a tremendous growth in the last four years and I think we need to manage that growth and we need to manage it in cooperation with the County. We all need to realize that there are opportunities here."
"I think the challenges for the next four years are, how do we fund all of the programs and services we have? We need services that are affordable, viable and sustainable so that is my biggest concern. I would also like to see if we can improve the relationship we have with the County to make it more productive and cost affective."
"I'm good at getting a conscience going and getting a dialogue going and getting people to sort of like sit around the table and say you know, you need to be productive and you need to get some things resolved. I think that is one of my strengths that I can bring to the table."
Bes is currently the only person running for the position after Dave Nadalin announced last month he was withdrawing his nomination papers.
