Hundreds of livestock were killed after two barn fires near Milverton.
Another barn fire in the region has proved fatal for a number of livestock near Milverton.
Perth County OPP and fire were called to the barn on Line 61 east of Road 129 on Thursday night around 11 p.m. The fire completely destroyed the barn as well as the 20 cows, 4 horses and 120 goats that were kept inside the barn.
Around midnight the fire spread to a neighbouring property east of the original blaze. Fire Fighters tried to stop the blaze and evacuate the dairy cows that were inside to no avail. At this time both fires are suspicious in nature until deemed otherwise. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office (OFM) has been notified. The investigation is in its early stages.
A damage estimate has not been determined.
