Oxford Attack Major Bantam Boys kicked off new season over the weekend against London.
LONDON – The season is now officially underway for the Oxford Attack Major Bantam Boys basketball team.
The U14 squad has been practicing together since early October and has been gearing up for their first competition against the London Gold Medal club.
Some early mistakes, missed defensive assignments and first-game jitters resulted in a 41-27 loss for Oxford.
Many of the Attack players are returning from last year, a little bigger and with a season of experience.
Ending last year with a Provincial silver medal and adding a few new players to this year’s roster, some good things are expected. The loss to Gold Medal was a good reminder of what it takes to play at this level.
Centre, Justin Chisholm, lead all scorers with 11 points.
Next up for the Attack boys is a match with a team from Huron County on December 11th at Huron Park Secondary School.
