Woman sets off car alarm to escape assault from unknown man
TILLSONBURG - The panic alarm on a woman's car is said to have helped her escape an assault in Tillsonburg.
According to Oxford OPP, the woman was walking her dog along the Trans Canada Trail north of Fourth Street Friday when she was assaulted by an unknown man.
OPP say it happened around 8:45 am and she was able to flee after hitting her car alarm.
The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim received minor injuries.
OPP have canvassed the area for potential witnesses and are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything or anyone suspicious in the area at the time of the assault.
The suspect is described as follows:
Male 30 – 40 years old
Dark or tanned skin
5 foot 7 inches to 5 foot 8 inches tall
Stocky build
Bald head
Wearing reflective sunglasses
