The Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford is getting ready for their Daffodil Month campaign.
WOODSTOCK - Daffodil Month is right around the corner and the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford is on the lookout for volunteers.
They're hoping to raise $12,000 for cancer research next month. The funds raised will also benefit their cancer support services; including their Wheels of Hope transportation service that takes patients to and from their appointments.
Community Fundraising Specialist Hailey Parliament says there will be lots of opportunities to purchase a daffodil pin.
"We'll have volunteers who are going door to door in our door to door campaign. We'll also have some that will be out in public locations. They'll be sitting in different grocery stores and places in the community making daffodils available by donation."
Parliament explains what the daffodil symbolizes.
"The daffodil is resilient; it survives our harsh winters and it's the first flower to bloom in the spring. Together Canadians have been rallying around the symbol every year in support of world class research and support services."
Anyone interested in dedicating their time can contact the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford; 519-537-5592.
