MOUNT ELGIN/PLATTSVILLE - We now have two boil water advisories in effect in Oxford County.
Southwestern Public Health says one is for Mount Elgin and the other is for the northeast corner of Plattsville.
The one in Mount Elgin was issued last night after a pressure loss in the municipal water system.
The one in Plattsville was issued yesterday afternoon following a watermain break. It affects the area east of Platt Street North to Hofstetter Road and the area north of Albert Street East to Hilborn Street.
Both of these advisories were issued as a precautionary measure and they encourage residents to boil their water for at least a minute before consuming it in any way. This includes drinking it, brushing your teeth, washing food or using it to make ice, juice or infant formula.
