A collision in Stratford ends with the suspect being found and taken into custody in Woodstock.
STRATFORD/WOODSTOCK - A hit and run in Stratford has ties to Woodstock.
Last Saturday, just after 12:30 p.m. there were reports of a hit and run on Lorne Street East at Downie Street in Stratford. A black Nissan Murano hit a black Mercedes SUV, and the SUV then hit a blue Honda. The driver of the Nissan fled the scene and struck a black van before entering a ditch and failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver was located by members of the Woodstock Police Service and has been identified as a 59-year-old Woodstock man. He has since been taken to the Stratford Police Headquarters and is facing charges of failure to stop after an accident, dangerous operation, as well as failure to report an accident, careless driving, and disobeying a stop sign.
He will appear in court on October 7th.
