Tickets are selling out fast for the Ingersoll Choral Society's Candlelight Christmas next weekend.
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Choral Society (ICS) is getting ready for a Christmas concert and tickets are selling fast.
A Candlelight Christmas will takeover Trinity United Church next Friday and Saturday and ICS member Jan Vicars says it will be an enchanting holiday performance.
"It's all going to be by candlelight. We're doing a lot of traditional Christmas songs and carols, ever popular pieces by John Rutter, we're also doing some comedic numbers by P.D.Q. Bach and some other quite funny numbers."
Vicars adds the choir members won't be the only ones performing.
"We usually just have piano accompaniment with most of our concerts, except for the Good Friday one where we have a full orchestra. This time we're going to be accompanied by a cello, violin and oboe which will add a special touch to this performance."
Students from Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute (IDCI) will also be part of the Friday night performance.
Musical Director Holly Langohr says the show will be fun for the whole family.
"Enjoy a cleverly crafted arrangement of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which takes famous musical works from history and assigns them each a day of Christmas. Join us as we board the Polar Express, ride back to the 1950s, sing with Scrooge and have a little bit of fun with P.D.Q. Bach. All ages will enjoy this captivating concert and it's a great way to get into the spirit of the season."
Tickets cost $25 each and they can be purchased at Patina's in Ingersoll, Long and McQuade in Woodstock, from an ICS member or by calling 226-228-9253.
There will be three performances total; a 7:00 p.m. show on Friday December 13th, a 2:00 p.m. show on Saturday December 14th, and a 7:00 p.m. show on Saturday December 14th. Tickets have already sold out for the Friday night performance.
