Ingersoll man scratches his way to $100,000
INGERSOLL - An Ingersoll man scratched his way to $100,000.
Jamie Szyniewski says he purchased the ticket Friday evening.
"A couple of hours before work and I stopped into the store to buy a pack of cigarettes and I figured, well I may as well buy one of these tickets, I'd never bought one before. 18 minutes before punching into work I scratched it."
"I could barely talk. I, I couldn't do anything. My boss walked outside right when I scratched it and once I showed him the ticket he was telling me to go down to the store, go down to the store right now. I ended up having to sit on the floor of the gas station. My legs wouldn't hold me up any more."
He spent 9 hours at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming office in Toronto Tuesday but the money is now secure in the bank.
"All the fishing I do, I have to have a boat. That's a given. I'm going to be investing as much of it as I possibly can. This has just given me an amazing head start and an opportunity."
Szyneiwski says he won playing a $5 Black Pearls ticket.
