City Clerk says cab companies to look into adjusting zones and a possible metering system
Adjustments may be on the way for taxi zones in Woodstock.
City Council approved a motion Thursday night to increase taxi fares by $1 immediately to help cover the cost of fuel.
City Clerk Louise Gartshore mentioned plans are in the works to discuss zone adjustments in the future as well as a possible metering system with taxi companies soon.
She said one issue cab companies are finding is that some drivers are interpreting the zones differently.
A report on zone adjustments is expected later this year.
