The WPS and Oxford OPP team up four times a year for Operation Zero, which is a two day traffic blitz. Day 1 in Woodstock resulted in 37 traffic tickets being handed out.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police and Oxford OPP teamed up for another round of Operation Zero.
Operation Zero is a traffic blitz where the detachments team up, focusing on Woodstock for one day and then Oxford County the next. During day one of the blitz in Woodstock officers handed out 37 traffic tickets and issued 23 warnings.
OPP and WPS team up for Operation Zero 4 times a year. Future Operation Zero blitzes include focuses on the following:
- Community Traffic Safety – community safety zones, school zones, stop signs, seat belts and distracted driving.
- Zero Tolerance – impaired driving.
- Commercial Traffic Safety – Commercial vehicle enforcement such as half load, speed and locating deficiencies.
