Last year Oxford Road got some traction in CAA's Worst Roads. Another road could get a little much needed TLC this year.
CAA has once again launched their Worst Roads Campaign for Ontario.
People can vote for the worst stretch of road in their area until April 29th. At the end of the month they will announce the top 10 worst roads in Ontario and they will also have several top 5 regional lists. Government Relations Specialist with CAA Caroline Garech tells Heart FM nothing is trending in Oxford right now, however one road did gain some traction last year.
"Oxford Street in Woodstock was the top vote getter in that area last year. It didn't make the regional list or the provincial list but that was the number 1 street that got the most votes.
Garech says a lot of times the top roads will see repairs happen to them sooner than scheduled.
"You have your voice heard and then once the campaign ends we compose a top 10 Provincial list and 7 top 5 regional lists and we take those roads and streets and highways that take those lists to municipal and provincial politicians in an effort to get those roads fixed.
The purpose of this campaign is to expose the worst roads in Ontario and pressure Municipal and Provincial governments to fix them. You can vote for the worst road online at http://caaworstroads.com/sco
