Popular employment website WorkinOxford.ca gets an expansion and several improvements are made to make job searching easier.
OXFORD COUNTY - Finding employment within the county could become much easier with the expanded and improved popular employment website WorkinOxford.ca. Program Director, for Oxford Workforce Development Partnership Natalie Surridge describes why this needs to be your first stop when job hunting. "WorkinOxford.ca is a one-stop shop to find out any employment opportunities within Oxford County. You can also go onto the website and look for volunteers so if you are student looking to get your 40 hours there is lots of organizations that are placed on their that can help you get your hours."
The website which received nearly 18,000 hits within a 3 month period and Surridge explained who had an impact on the decision to improve WorkinOxford.ca. "We updated the site from direct feedback from the community. We have had an incredible uptake on the old site to make the site more user friendly. Job seekers can streamline their searches geographically or by category and type. One of the other big things the non-for profit community groups can post their volunteer opportunities at no cost."
Surridge is hoping that the site will attract attention which could mean high profile jobs. "It is a great place to go and look for opportunities that are available in Oxford County for the job seekers and we are going to be working very hard to get more and more jobs from level entry all the way up to highly skilled positions. It also to allows us to attract people outside of the County to come and live and work in Oxford." Entrepreneurs are urged to visit WorkinOxford.ca to gather information to build your own business.
