The City of Woodstock has received second-quarter payment of $390,558 from the OLG for hosting Gateway Casinos.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has received its second quarter payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The OLG's payment totals $390,558, and it covers the months of July August, and September. Since the Woodstock casino first opened in June 2001, the Friendly City has received over $24.5 million.
In total, host communities have received almost $1.9 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994. As always, 100% of OLG profits are invested back into the communities, contributing to economic recovery, infrastructure development, and job creation.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy explains the purpose of the payments.
“Revenue from OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreements supports host communities so they can invest in programs and services that benefit everyone, from neighbourhood parks to local festivals. These payments help to improve the quality of life and make Ontario a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and play.”
