The Woodstock Police Service is reporting they have dealt with more calls this year when compared to last year.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service has received more calls for service this year compared to 2015.
So far this year the service has received 13,503 calls, and the number of calls has been higher each month compared to the year before.
Deputy Chief Darren Sweazey says they can't pinpoint a specific reason for the rise in calls.
"I can't really attribute it to anything in particular, that's just way the stats are right now, they're up and down and I guess we're on an uphill climb."
Sweazey tells Heart FM how Woodstock Police use this information to their advantage.
"By reviewing the statistics and stuff like that it can help you plan for strategizing for in terms of personnel deployment and stuff like that throughout the city in key times, places, etcetera."
These statistics are presented to the Woodstock Police Services Board on a monthly basis.
