A Woodstock Police employee has been arrested and charged with one count of assault.
UPDATE (March 7, 2024) - Eric Dopf will not be spending time behind bars.
During his sentencing hearing in London yesterday, he was sentenced to a conditional discharge and 12 months probation.
According to CTV News, Dopf will now have a hearing under the Police Services Act, which could result in his termination.

UPDATE (Dec 11, 2023) - He has pled guilty in a London courtroom.
According to an article in the Woodstock Sentinel Review, Dopf appeared in a London courtroom on Thursday.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 7th, 2024 and it looks like he won't be serving jail time. The Crown will be looking for a suspended sentence with probation, while the defense will ask for probation with a conditional discharge.

WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock Police Service (WPS) Officer has been charged.
A criminal investigation was launched with the London Police Service after the WPS received information about the conduct of one of its officers involved in an on-duty incident on October 17.
Detective Constable Eric Dopf, a 17-year Woodstock Police employee, has been arrested and charged with one count of assault.
Per the Ontario Police Services Act, he is suspended with pay.
He is scheduled to appear in a London Court on January 16 and the WPS will not comment further.
