Pre-orders are now being accepted for the Woodstock Museum's third annual Vintage Christmas Card Sale.
WOODSTOCK - The third annual Vintage Christmas Card Sale at the Woodstock Museum is here.
If you're not aware of the popular fundraiser, Museum Curator Karen Houston explains what the Vintage Christmas Card Sale is.
"In our collection, we have all kinds of different cards, but our Christmas cards are particularly beautiful. So what we do is every year we pick out four and we print three of those four and put them in a package for a set of 12 cards that people can buy this year for $20."
This year's selection includes cards that were originally produced between 1905 and 1930, and they are available to pre-order now, but if you'd like to purchase them in person, you'll have to wait until November 1.
There is also no theme this year, the museum just selected the four most beautiful designs for the holiday season.
The fundraiser started during COVID because the museum thought that Christmas cards might be more popular due to lockdowns and families being forced to spend the holidays apart. However, it's been such a hit, that the museum has decided to keep it going.
“I think it's because of the graphics. I think it's just the fact that there's a lot of nostalgia, there's a lot of interest in the graphics from different time periods and they're beautiful. The vintage Christmas card sale is a fantastic way to spread some holiday cheer, while supporting the programs and exhibits offered by the Woodstock Museum.”
