It's the opportunity of a lifetime for a 9-year-old Woodstock girl tonight. Rachel Miller will be a flag bearer on the ice at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, for the opening ceremony of the Women's International Hockey Championship. Rachel's mom, Leanne Miller says the Championship is quite the spectacle. "I'm so proud, it's just to do with women's hockey. When I was playing women's hockey, there wasn't any of this. So just to see her out on the ice and enjoying it...taking it all in...I'm probably going to be an emotional mess tonight." Rachel was selected at random through a Hockey Canada contest. She's excited about the opportunity. "I'm really happy." Rachel plays for the Woodstock Wildcats Atom C team, and says she loves hockey. "It's just fun to play hockey, and have fun." She could also be on national TV tonight, as TSN will be broadcasting the tournament's opening game between Canada and the US, at 7:30.
