Friends who play the lottery together, win together.
WOODSTOCK - Two friends from Woodstock have won $100,000 off a lottery ticket.
According to the OLG, Garth Kirby and Elspeth Zavitz matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the November 26th Lotto Max draw. They bought their golden ticket at the Daisy Mart on Mill Street.
Kirby checked the lottery numbers.
"I was watching the news when I decided to check our ticket. When I realized we’d won big, I immediately called Elspeth."
Zavitz was shocked by the amazing news.
"When I got the call from Garth, I didn’t believe him at first. After our call, I lay in bed for an hour, processing the feelings and emotions that come with this kind of news."
They're both planning to pay some bills with their winnings. Zavitz would also like to go on a vacation with her husband to celebrate their anniversary.
