Chair of the Oxford Regional Campus Donna Derer says students will be reaping the benefits of all their hard work. "Our convocation is tonight at 7 o'clock at the Maranatha Christian Reform Church. We are celebrating the graduation of about 210 graduates. We actually have 15 programs that are seeing graduates tonight."
Eight students will also be recognized for their academic achievements. They are:

Trisha Pink from the Child and Youth Worker program is also getting a special Distinguished Student Award for Community Service. "The award is given to students who demonstrate a significant contribution to either the community or to college life," says Derer. "And so she was selected college wide for what she's done."
They will also be award their second Fanshawe honorary diploma to former mayor of Tillsonburg John Lessif. "John is being recognized for his long service within the county, and the province, and the country actually. He is a strong supporter of Fanshawe College and he's actually started an award for an Oxford County Student as well," says Derer, adding that Lessif is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Lessif's award is given to a business student at the Woodstock Fanshawe campus.
The public is welcome to come out at 7 p.m. and cheer the graduates on as they start a new chapter in their lives.
