Woodstock Curbside Leaf Collection

As the leaves continue to fall, the City of Woodstock is asking people to rake the piles toward the curbs for collection.

WOODSTOCK - Leaf collection has begun in the Friendly City.

Works Superintendent Alex Piggot says crews are currently working to collect leaves raked to the curb.

"They just need to rake them out to the curb. Get them out there so they are within a metre of the curb or three feet of the curb - nice neat piles. Don't put them on top of the catch basin and don't park on top of the piles."

Along with the catch basins, Piggot also asks people to be considerate of cyclists.

"The bike lanes themselves, they're 1.2 metres wide so there's a little bit of room if you're able to keep them out there - obviously you don't want to have the leaf piles piled up over blocking the bike lanes because we still want to have people out there bicycling given the nice weather we've had lately."

If you don't want to rake your leaves to the curb you can also take your leaves to the Yard Waste Depot on James Street.

Curbside Leaf Collection continues until the week of December 5th.
