Increased users and better marketing. The two main reasons that the Community Complex will create revenue for the city. The Parks and Recreation Department show the Complex making nearly $62,000 in revenue. Ice rentals, the fitness club, and advertising are each showing significant increases. Director Brian Connors says they've also started reserving money because the building is getting old. "It's 17-years old. Most of the equipment, like the condensers and the chillers, and all of those pieces that make the ice happen are nearing the end of their lifespan. Lifespan usually goes from 20-25 years, but that's based on downtime," said Connors. But, the Community Complex is used 11 to 12 months of the year. Until those repairs are necessary, their budget creeps down. This year, down 2.8 percent.
