WOODSTOCK - An employee at Woodingford Lodge-Woodstock has tested positive for COVID-19.
Southwestern Public Health notified Woodingford Lodge of the test result earlier tonight. Effective immediately, there will be no long-term care admissions and visits to Woodingford Lodge. Among the additional steps taken to protect the health and safety of residents and other staff include:
· immediate isolation of all residents in the employee’s assigned wing;
· COVID-19 testing of 133 residents at the Woodstock site tonight, with 27 residents having been tested within three days ago as part of regular resident testing;
· COVID-19 testing for all staff members who worked with the employee. All Woodingford Lodge employees are tested for COVID-19 every two weeks.
As a result of the employee testing positive, an outbreak has been declared at the facility by Woodingford Lodge-Woodstock Medical Director Dr. Barry Roth and Director Mark Dager, which halts new admissions and all visitations as per Ministry of Long-Term Care directive.
This additional step allows Woodingford Lodge to give full attention to protecting the health and safety of everyone living and working at the site.
