With an annual operating budget north of $24-million, the County has its sights set on Woodingford Lodge for cost savings. A service review will be launched with County Council's approval at their meeting Wednesday. But as County CAO Peter Crockett explains, they're not just picking on Woodingford. "This is the first of many reviews. We expect to develop a plan to systematically go through all of our programs and services. Woodingford is obviously a high profile and significant one for us to look at." County Councillors have long lamented over the rising cost of providing long term care in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg. Part of the review will have councillors forming an ad hoc committee to oversee the review. Crockett says for the most part it will be an in-house review, but outside help may be consulted as well. While Woodingford's budget tops $24-million, around $8.7-million is directly funded by the local tax base on an annual basis.
