It's Giving Tuesday and the Woodstock Kitten Nursery and Rescue is one of many local organizations in need of support.
WOODSTOCK - After all the deals that were had over the weekend, it is time to give back.
It is Giving Tuesday, and the Woodstock Kitten Nursery and Rescue is an organization that could use some help. Volunteer, Ginger Storey-Taylor speaks to the amount of cats at the facility.
"Right now we have 46. That would be seven mommas and 39 kittens, so yes it's a bit crazy, it's a bit hairy."
Taylor says that with the amount of kittens, they go through about 40 pounds of dry food used, plus wet food.
Storey-Talyor has this message for those who are looking to give.
"We're just asking people to keep us in mind if they are thinking of donating for this event. We always have a need, we are always going to have intakes, and the expenses are great for us to do what we do."
You can donate to the Woodstock Kitten Nursery and Rescue online here.
Taylor mentions there will also be some fundraisers, including an online auction, and the Countdown to Christmas Bazaar. The auction will be on their Facebook page and starts Wednesday, November 30th, and will run until Sunday, December 3rd. The Countdown to Christmas Bazaar takes place on Saturday, December 2nd from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Oxford Auditorium at the Woodstock Fairgrounds.
Ginger Storey-Taylor stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday November 27th. You can listen to the full interview below:
