THAMESFORD - The Township of Zorra and the Life Skills Academy, powered by the Boys and Girls Clubs of London are teaming up to offer some fun programs for kids this winter in Thamesford.
Art Attack is for kids between the ages of 8-13 and the 6 week program starts on Wednesday.
Manager of Kidscape Daphne Coulombe says they have a lot of fun activities planned for Art Attack.
"They are doing all different types of art. It is taught by a local artist, a very talented man who teaches the kids different techniques. So each week is a different project. One week is a self portrait, one week, they are using different textures to bring out a picture in art."
They also have two cooking classes in Thamesford starting this week for younger and older kids. The program for kids between the ages of 4-6 will start with the basics of cooking and allow the kids to explore the kitchen. Coulombe says the class for the older kids, between the ages 7-12 will be a lot more independent.
"So each week they will be cooking something different and for example, they will be able to make their own batch of muffins, in anyway they like, to make it their own, so if they want to add banana's or strawberries or chocolate chips, that sort of thing."
Both programs run out of the Thamesford Community Centre and you can still sign up your kids right now. They also have similar programs available nearby in Thorndale and Dorchester. You can find more information on the cost and how to register online here.
