Woodstock Police responded to a number of calls over the Victoria Day long weekend.
WOODSTOCK -- Woodstock Police were kept busy over the Victoria Day long weekend, responding to more than 120 calls for service -- a number of the calls included, noise complaints, family disputes, driving complaints and domestic occurrences.
Woodstock Police responded to a family dispute Monday at a residence in the Graham Street and Drew Street area. Officers arriving found a 2006 Ford F-150 pick-up truck reversing from the driveway. The vehicle was stopped. The male driver was found to have consumed alcohol and was taken to police headquarters.
Police conducted a further investigation following the stop and as a result, a 48 year old Woodstock man has been charged with several counts of assault, two counts of mischief, one count of assault with a weapon by throwing a glass at the victim and one count of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing at Woodstock court.
A 30 year-old Woodstock man was also arrested and charged with impaired driving early Saturday morning after an officer pulled over his black BMW on Highway 59 near Tecumseh Street.
