The $74,600 grant will help provide staff development resources.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock and District Developmental Services (WDDS) has received a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation worth $74,600
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman knows it will be put to good use.
"This funding will help strengthen the vital programs and supports they provide to individuals and families in our community. I commend their continued dedication to inclusion, empowerment, and improving quality of life for those they serve."
Fund Developer Krystan Maclean says it will allow them to provide training, tools, and opportunities for their staff members that support adults with developmental disabilities.
"This funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation allows us to invest in not only the lives of the people we support, but provide training, tools, and opportunities for the people providing that support. It’s creating internal capacity to put in the work to help people achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life of their choosing."
WDDS is going to hire a one-year Planning Facilitator to help people achieve their goals. It's also going to establish a long-term planning champions committee, and provide professional training resources to staff members.
The grant was celebrated during the WDDS Fun Fair, which included carnival games, face painting, a barbeque and more.
