Students in Oxford County are being encouraged to walk, ride their bike or skateboard to school tomorrow.
Tomorrow is International Walk to School day.
Students in Oxford County are encouraged to get outside and get active and walk to school tomorrow, ride your bike, rollerblade or skate board to class. Oxford County Public Health Nurse Kelly Vanderhoeven tells Heart FM the idea is to get kids active and out of the car for the day.
"There is many reason why kids should be walking or wheeling to school anything from improving their physical and mental health, they arrive at school and they already have their physical activity in for the day and they arrive more prepared to learn."
She adds they have created a video called Tony the Streetwise Cat who teaches kids how to cross the street safely at traffic lights and the video fits in nicely with International Walk to School Day.
