Ministry of Environment still working through the Terms of Reference on the proposed Walker landfill site.
INGERSOLL - It's still just a waiting game at this point.
That from Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey in regards to the status of a decision on the Terms of Reference Document submitted to the Ministry of Environment on the proposed Walker Landfill site.
Comiskey says he has been getting a lot of questions about the status of the decision
"We are staying on top of it. We're staying tuned on what's going on. We have requests in and opportunity to be able to visit with the new Minister of Environment so hopefully we can kind of do any form of influencing that is possible at this point and time to have this request turned down."
Comiskey says the government has the Terms of Reference and had asked for the Health Study to be more indepth.
"Information through the joint municipal group of South West Oxford, Ingersoll, Zorra and the County itself have worked through with Dr Neil and kind of come up with a direction that we would like to see the government implement on how the health studies would be carried out."
Comiskey says he expects a decision from the government sometime late September or early October in one of three forms.
"Number one the terms of reference could be turned down and that would be the end of it. It could be that the terms of reference would be accepted and it would carry forward or the terms of reference could be accepted with modifications and that they have been implemented or be requested by municipalities or separate groups coming forward."
