A woman from Woodstock was one of 400 volunteers at this years Juno Awards in London.
WOODSTOCK - The day after the 2019 Juno awards is a day of reflection for one Woodstonian who had the opportunity to volunteer at the televised event in London.
Audrey Dawson-Benbow of Woodstock got the initial email in January saying she had been one of the 400 volunteers selected to work at Canada's biggest night in music.
The 62 year old retired Woodingford Lodge RPN was part of the welcome crew at the hotels and then was given the task of red carpet set up and tear down.
Over 1500 people applied to volunteer at the star studded event that included appearances by "Sting" and a tearful acceptance speech from Corey Hart as he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Dawson-Benbow says it was an opportunity of a lifetime.
"We got to be a part of the Junos, that is the cool part about it. It is something I can check off my bucket list."
Running into people like Jann Arden isn't something that happens everyday, but this lucky volunteer says she was thrilled when she got some advice about volunteering from Arden.
"Don't you let them give you any crap".
She adds that it was one of busiest weeks of her life and she has every intention of staying in bed all day.
