The reconstruction project should finish late next month, weather permitting.
WOODSTOCK - There is an end in sight for the Vansittart Ave bridge project in Woodstock.
County officials say the reconstruction is in its final stages and it should be finished by late February, weather permitting. If the temperatures remain below the negative double digits for a consistent amount of time, the work will be paused until the conditions improve.
Crews have been hard at work over the past 11 months and the bridge has been down to one lane of traffic for most of that time.
The project has included not only repairs to the structure but also the removal of the previous bridge deck and replacing it with a wider one that can accommodate bike lanes and sidewalks.
You can read more about the project online here.
