Ingersoll man involved in hit and run gets 3.5 years
It's three and a half years in prison for an Ingersoll man involved in a hit and run which left a ten year old boy in critical condition.
35 year old Toby VanLieshout was charged back in October after hitting Tyler Brooks while he rode his bike on Wexford Ave. in London.
Brooks is still in hospital with a severe brain injury.
VanLieshout pleaded guilty to the charges which included failing to remain at the scene of an accident, careless driving and pot possession.
The three and a half year sentence is the maximum he could have received and was a joint submission from both the defence and crown.
His wife Rebecca Smith will face sentencing March 26 following a January guilty plea of being an accessory after the fact.
