The flood watch is on in the Upper Thames watershed. A significant amount of rain has already fallen, and is expected to continue through Friday in the range of another 35-100mm of rain. Upper Thames Spokesperson Sauder says they are concerned because of the amount of rain they are expecting, the amount of rain they've already had as well as some areas that still have snow that is melting. The UTRCA is monitoring the situation closely, and is using available reservoirs to take on some of that extra water. Still, flooding is expected along Cedar Creek in Woodstock, the west end of Highway 2 Dundas St., along with Ponderosa trailer park in Zorra Township. Sauder says people need to steer clear of the water over the next few days. "Consider how cold the water is, how fast moving it is, and some areas that may have been a stable bank earlier may have been undercut by this higher water. Tell your family members, tell your children, stay well back from these waterways until things have receded." If these forecasts materialize, potential areas for flooding include: City of Woodstock: Thames River at Highway 2; Cedar Creek at Southside Park Thames Centre: Village of Putnam South of Hwy 401; Reynolds Creek - Golden Pond Trailer Park East Zorra -Tavistock: Braemar Trailer Park Zorra: Ponderosa Trailer Park City of London: Waubuno Creek - Travelled Road, River Road North Thames River - Windermere and Adelaide Streets, Gibbons Park (Victoria Avenue), Harris Park including the Nancy Campbell Institute parking area Dingman Creek at Dingman Drive Pottersburg Creek at Oxford Street (Veterans Memorial Parkway) Thames River - Wellington and Front Streets Mud Creek at Oxford Street (opposite Beaverbrook Avenue) Western University: Medway parking lot, Tennis Centre Middlesex Centre: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School; River Road Perth South: Prospect Hill Campground West Perth: Motherwell area (Trafalgar bridge) City of Stratford: Dolan Drive; Avon Cemetery; Stratford Golf and Country Club Town of St. Marys: Thomas Street between Park and Queen Streets; Parkview Drive; St. Marys Golf and Country Club
