A van parked on Pavey St. came out of park on its own this afternoon, according to Woodstock Police, and crossed all 4-lanes of Norwich Avenue before crashing into a house on Karn Ave. It also happened at 3:30 in the afternoon, as kids were walking home from nearby schools. The van knocked the gas meter off the house, causing a gas leak in the area. Some homes were evacuated, and streets closed around the scene. They're back open now, but gas remains shut off to the surrounding neighbourhood. No one was injured, and damage to the van was pegged at $2,000. (Photo courtesy of area resident Murray Struder)
