OXFORD COUNTY - As daily case numbers of COVID-19 continue to rise both locally and provincially, the Southwestern Public Health Unit is reminding everyone to stay the course and maintain physical distancing measures.
COVID fatigue has set in on many people and we are seeing daily cases sky rocket. The Province has now recorded over 1,000 new cases every day for the past 7 days, setting new records daily. Yesterday we had over 1,575 people test positive for COVID-19.
Locally our numbers are the highest they have been since the start of the pandemic. In Oxford County we currently have 43 active cases with the majority of them in Woodstock and Norwich.
Southwestern Public Health says that since we're already practicing infection prevention measures due to COVID-19, here’s a friendly reminder:
- Get your flu shot
- Wash your hands frequently
- Keep your hands away from your face
- Cough and sneeze into your arm, not your hand
- Keep common surface areas clean and disinfected
- Stay home if you are sick
