Tremblett's Helping Hand Up is hoping to help local people enjoy a home cooked meal every week.
INGERSOLL - Tremblett's Independent Grocer in Ingersoll is launching a new program to help make sure nobody in the community goes hungry.
Tremblett's Helping Hand Up starts tonight and it will offer local residents a chance to come by and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal for free. Owner Rob Tremblett tells Heart FM why they wanted to launch this program.
"There is always people in need of a little bit of assistance and support and that is what we pride ourselves on in supporting the community and this was another thing we thought was important and was a great way we could give back."
Tremblett says they are hoping to run this every Monday for the next year and he could see it expanding in the future. About 32 people are expected to take part in the meal this evening which runs from 5-7 pm. Tremblett says you can sign up for the meals online or at their store.
"We have posted a signup on social media, we will also have a signup in store to kind of give us an idea and you can come into Tremblett's every Monday night and we will have a super salad, some kind of protein and a dessert and anyone who signs up will receive a fantastic dinner."
