Police have released the name of the man who died in Monday's fatal train crash near Thamesford.
THAMESFORD - Police have identified the victim in a fatal train collision on the 13th line in Zorra Township.
37 year old Slawomir Kaczmarek of Zorra Township was pronounced deceased at the scene after a train collided with his truck early Monday morning just west of Thamesford. Police say his pick up truck was stopped on the tracks facing southbound when the train hit it. The impact from the crash caused the truck to be pushed about 100 yards, where it came to a rest in the south side ditch.
The four CP Rail employees on board at the time were not injured. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
