The city is lending its buses for the Tour of Lights again this December. The event sees eight busloads of citizens roll out on a tour of the best Christmas light displays in Woodstock. The city donates it's buses and drivers for the night, and proceeds from ticket sales support the United Way. As well, those attending are asked to bring food for the food bank. Development Officer Brad Hammond says after the program went on hiatus in 2010, last year's re-launch was a success. "We had a great response last year. I think we had over 200 people come out. There were a few growing pains, but we're making it even better this year," said Hammond. The city also sees it as a way to promote its new transit fleet to those who aren't regular riders. Hammond says it's also affordable entertainment at $2 per person. Tickets will go on sale at City Hall later this month. The date for the event is December 13th.
