Alek Minassian looking to appeal his conviction after being sentenced to life in prison.
The man convicted in Toronto's deadly van attack in 2018 has filed an appeal
This week, Alek Minassian filed a notice of appeal to Ontario's highest court.
Minassian, who was convicted last month on ten counts of first degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder, says the trial judge "misapprehended" expert evidence.
He was sentenced to life in prison without a chance of parole for 25 years.
On April 23rd, 2018, ten people died when Minassian drove a rented van down a busy sidewalk.
Three years later, another woman died as a result of injuries suffered that day.
