People in Woodstock can buy a Tim Hortons smile cookie for $1.00. Their campaign is happening at all locations in town tomorrow. It runs from September 16th-22nd.
WOODSTOCK - Tim Hortons will be starting their Smile Cookie Week campaign tomorrow.
Residents can simply buy a cookie at any location in the Friendly City, for just $1.00, with proceeds going towards two local organizations.
Resource Development Manager for United Way Oxford Amanda Kreiger says they're one of this year's recipients.
"So we were very fortunate this year to receive half of the funds raised through the Smile Cookie campaign in our community and the Woodstock community, the Tim Hortons here that are participating. They approached us and wondered if we would be interested in coming on board and it's a great opportunity for us to support local people, but also local programs in our community."
Kreiger adds Tim Hortons has always been a great supporter of United Way Oxford. The other half of the proceeds will go to VON Sakura House.
She says this is their first year involved in this initiative.
"We hope that the energy around Smile Cookie Week continues to grow. We know they raise an incredible amount of money for our community and the Sakura House over the years, and we're really appreciative to be a part of it this year. It's a great visual campaign as well because everybody loves seeing the hand-decorated cookies. I don't know if anybody knows this but the cookies are all hand-decorated by staff, which is a little bit unique. So we just hope the energy continues to grow and the community continues to support and we can make this the best year yet for the Smile Cookie Campaign here in Oxford."
The campaign runs from September 16th-22nd.
