TILLSONBURG - The Pride crosswalk at the corner of Broadway and Bridge Street West in Tillsonburg has been vandalized once again.
Someone poured black paint and diesel fuel all over it sometime over the weekend. Members of Tillsonburg Fire and Rescue Services were called in to clean up the mess due to an environmental hazard.
This is the fourth time the crosswalk has been damaged since it was installed in late July.
In a statement released yesterday, Mayor Deb Gilvesy said this reckless behaviour needs to stop.
"Defacing public property is not acceptable in Tillsonburg at any time. I cannot stress enough how concerning these incidents are to not only the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies, but to the entire community."
Anyone with information in regards to this case should call the Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
