More bad news coming from Johnson Controls in Tillsonburg. The company is laying off nearly 100 of its employees. Earlier this year, a worker was killed on the job (details here). The company's Communications Manager Mary Kay Dodero says the accident is not related to the layoff and that the Ministry of Labour is still investigating the workplace death. Dodero says the whole third shift is being cut, but they're continuing to look for other opportunities to increase production again. "We are pursuing new business for the plant, so we continue to try to pursue replacement business, but we don't have any news on that right now. So, currently [only] two shifts will operate as usual," said Dodero. The layoff is expected to take place before the months end. The company supplies foam for automotive seating and has been operating in Tillsonburg for over 40 years.
