TILLSONBURG - The Tillsonburg Multi-Service Centre has received the highest rating possible from Accreditation Canada, Accredited with Exemplary Standing.
Accreditation Canada is an independent, non-profit, Canadian organization that sets national standards and shares best practices around the world. Executive Director at the MSC Kathryn Leatherland says they are really proud of this accreditation.
"I am pleased that the MSC has been recognized in this meaningful way for how it strives to provide the best care every time. This outstanding success highlights the caring and dedication by staff and volunteers."
An on-site MSC survey was completed by Accreditation Canada in October 2019. As part of the 3 day process, Board members, leadership staff, front line staff, patients, patient families and community partners were involved. The MSC was evaluated against 418 national standards and passed with a 99.3% compliance.
Leatherland says the whole process was great and it helped them some things as well.
"It helps give us new ideas. The surveyors who came in were from different backgrounds, one was from British Columbia, they brought new ideas to us. The national standards the organization uses, they are continually updating those, so as there are new innovations happening in health care, they are able to bring those to us and we are able to raise our standards, to make sure we are meeting them."
The MSC opened in 1978 in Tillsonburg and they are a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to promoting high quality accessible community services in Oxford, Elgin and Norfolk Counties.
